Sidebottom ruled out of SA series
London, Aug. 25: England left arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom will miss the rest of the ODI series against
South Afica with groin and hip problem.
The Nottinghamshire bowler has been struggling with the injuries for some time and was rested for the last Test at the Oval to try to get him fit for the fivematch one-day series.
But he was not deemed fit enough to feature in Friday’s opening 20-run triumph over the tourists at Headingley and after being given another fitness test at Headingley and after being given another fitness test at Trent Bridge on Monday he was ruled ruled out for the remainder of the series.
England had already called up Yorkshire allrounder Tim Bresnan as cover for injuries to Sidebottom and Chris Tremlett, who is suffering with a heel problem, while captain Kevin Pietersen has persuaded Steve Harmison to come out of retirement to feature at Headingley.
Both player will now stay with England’s squad for the remainder of the series, which continues with a daynight international on Tuesday.

Attack Mendis to put pressure: MSD
Aug.25: Having pulled off a gamble by playing three seamers and one spinner, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be inclined to think that he had the numbers right. Usually teams go in with two specialist spinners in these sub-continental conditions but given the way the wicket behaved in the third game, Dhoni, it appears, has out-thought counterpart Mahela Jeyawardena. Follwing the victory in the third game, Dhoni said that a fifth bowler was luxury in such conditions.
The Indian skipper believes that playing an extra batsman is more advantageous as opposed to a fifth bowler as he feels a part-timer can be useful in these conditions. “Sinee these wickets are slow, the part timers can be effective. But we don’t have part-timers like Virender (Sehwag) or Sachin (Tendulkar) who can really turn the ball and stay consistent. So you have to see who’s bowling well, and continue with him,” said Dhoni. For the first time in the series and going right back to the Test matches, the Indians, it appeared, had managed to tackle their nemesis, Ajantha Mendis. Though one game doesn’t certainly make them masters, the confidence can work wonders.
‘If he (Mendis) bowls a bad ball you need to punish him. Only then will pressure build on him. If you keep defending he’ll stay on top. Till now he wasn’t under pressure so he wasn’t under pressure so he was bowing at his best,” said the India skipper.

Women Are Eyeing Udita
After her heart-racing performance in Aksar and Zeher, it’s normal for Udita to get a lot mails from male admires. However, the bulk of her fan mail comes from female fans. “Female fans often compliment me on my lips and body with explicit details. I am not sure if I should freak out or should she accept them as genuine compliments. After all it’s not easy for one women to compliment the other,” says Udita
Udita, who made a sensational debut in Paap, was appreciated for her perfect figure. Gradually she put on so much weight and as a result, she ended up losing a lot of projects. “After Paap was released, everyone said I was very thin and needed to put on weight. I tried many different things to gain weight and in the process I became fat. Now I am taking care of my diet. I watch what I eat especially with all the compliments coming my way,” says Udita.

Trisha bags Kamal’s next
It’s lucky time for actress Trisha. She had missed teaming up with Kamal Hassan in Dasavatharam because of date problems due to prior commitments. However, this time round she has made it to Kamal’s next venture, the period film titled Marma Yogi. According to a reliable source, the actress will sign on the dotted line soon.
Apparently, kamal himself narrated the script and she was totally overwhelmed by his approach and agreed immediately. She has been asked to allocate a chunk o shooting dates for the venture, almost six months.
Trisha is currently working on three movies namely, king with Nagarjuna in Telugu, Chennayil Oru Mazhai Kaalam with Gautham Menon, and Sravam with Vishnuvardhan. Right now, she is busy shuffling the dates to accommodate the new film.
There are a couple of other actresses in the film but the lead heroine opposite Kamal is Trisha. When Trisha who was shooting for king in Hyderabad was contracted, the actress said that it was premature to talk about it and did not want comment as of now

Chiranjeevi all set to take new role
Aug 25: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi arrived here Monday night for the much hyped launch of his political party at a public meeting in this temple town on Tuesday. All the ingredients of a celluloid blockbuster are thrown in, including the element of suspense over the name of the party and its flag.
The 53-year-old actor, who announced his plans to take a plunge into politics at a press conference in Hyderabad last week, will announce his party’s name and programmers at the ‘mega show’ where he is also expected to wave his flag.
Accompanied by his family, the star reached Tirumala Monday night to be able to offer worship Lord Venkateswara Tuesday morning before preparing for the big event, his maiden political rally. Giving a cinematic touch to the show, a helicopter will shower flowers and another will film the programme with movie cameras, according to his aides. Elaborating on the huge canvas of preparations, they said 18 special rains, about 1500 buses, thousands of cars, vans, and trucks would be engaged to bring Chiranjeevi’s fans and potential party members from all parts of Andhra Pradesh to the Rajiv Nagar venue. In addition, ten special trains from Hyderabad would take the media persons an participants, who would include several film personalities and some NRIs they arrived from the US last week to campaign for the star’s party.
With the question doing the rounds in political and media circles whether Chiranjeevi would be able to recreate the magic of the late Telugu hero N.T.Rama Rao, who had stormed to power within nine months of floating his Telugu Desam party in 1983, the Tuesday launch is being kennly watched not only in Andhra Pradesh but else where too.
Over 126-acre ground has been cleared of bushes at the venue, where an AICC Plenary was held in 1992 during P V Narasimha Rao’s regime.
All the hotels and marriage halls in the temple town and the surrounding towns of Puttur, Sri Kalahasti and Chittor have already been occupied by politicians and the actor’s fans.
A TTD official has expressed fear that the shrine, already experiencing heavy rush of pilgrims due to marriages happening during this auspicious ‘Sravana Masam’, could choke on the influx of the Chiranjeevi army.
“It would be nice if the people attending the rally avoid visiting the shrine. Other wise, it might take three days for the pilgrims to have darshan, at 60,000-80,000 people a day,” he said
