The TNCC presidant K.V. Thangkabalu has appealed to his party men to strive together to establish Congress rule in the state. “The Congress should capture power in the aspirations of our leader Rajiv Gandhi. We can achieve this goal only if we all strive in unison,” he said while presiding over a meeting organised by the TNCC here on Wednesday I connection with the Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
Referring to criticism by certain political parties that his party could not become a strong force, Mr Thangkabalu said the Congress workers should prove the critics wroug. “Let’s live up to the aspirations of Rajiv Gandhi,” he urged.
The Congress, union ministers were conspicous by their absence at the meeting, which was attended, in large numbers by party cadres. AICC general secretary incharge of Tamil Nadu affairs K.P. Krishnamurthy said the nation would disintegraet if the BJP was allowed to come to power.
