Singer Prasanna is overjoyed on getting a part on his back from Superstar Rajinikanth for his rendition of the song Perinba Pecchukaran Yaru Yaru Koorappa in Kuselan.
"Although composer G.v.Prakesh tried to maintain its secrecy, I could make out from the lyrics that the song was to be rendered for Rajini sir," says Prasanna, remembering how he sang the song in the wee hours. "Rajini told me that this track would take me places and that it would be a chart topper although it's listed way on the album's CD cover. True to his words, the song is on the lips of everyone (going by the calls I am getting everyday)," he adds.
Prasanna elaborates,” Waiting for the break finally paid off. I am grateful to Cheran for the chance in Thavamai Thavamirunthu which brought me to limelight." the singer who is also fond of carnatic songs is nurturing a dream to learn thumris and qawalis as well. Though he intially aspired to be a carnatic singer, his interst in light music grew after he sang a duet with Jassie Gift called Annakili Nee Vaadi, which worked wonders for his confidence levels. Since then, he has sung for scores of devotional albums during the festive seasons.
